For 2014 we have made all events TEAM events and added a TWO DAY!

As with previous years, all events have been designed to give both the beginner and RX athlete a full day fun!

ONE Day Event

1 Day Team Times:

Early packet pickup is from noon-630pm Friday at The Back Porch

Day of packet pickup is from 8-9am Sat at The Back Porch

First team start 930am @ The Back Porch 

Catagory: One day events will be 4 person team events (at least one female)

Events: All team events will be based on CrossFit workouts and have been developed by certified CF professionals. The first two workouts can be accomplished by all levels; the third workout will be more demanding. Be ready for a tough full day and to get sandy! Workouts will not be revealed until the morning of the event.

Movement Menu (some or all will be in the workouts): Events 1&2: Weighted lunges, burpees, weighted burpees, farmer's carry, air squats, weighted squats, pushups, situps. Event 3: pullups, thrusters, pushups, overhead lunge, front squats, squats, knee to elbow.  

Cost: $140 for all military team (active duty and/or veterans); $175 for civilian team

Entry: Online entry at active.com. Entry closes on Feb 11th! Entry for the 1 day event includes 4 custom Son of a Beach soft cooler, an aid station, and awards. The one day event does NOT include a tshirt, but they can be purchased with entry.


TWO Day Event

2 Day Team Times:

Early packet pickup is from noon-630pm Friday at The Back Porch

Day of packet pickup is from 7-8am Sat at The Back Porch

Saturday- first team start 830am @ The Back Porch

Sunday- first team start 8am @ Tops'l Beach Resort

Locations: SatThe Back Porch Restaurant in Destin, FL

Sun- Tops'l Beach and Racquet Resort in Sandestin, FL (parking instructions will be included in team package)

Categories: 4 person team (must contain at least 1 female)

Events:

Day 1: Team events scored for time. Events will be based on Crossfit movements/workouts.  Some movements may be scaled if a member is unable to complete it, but your team will receive a time penalty. At the end of Day 1, teams will be ranked by total time to complete all workouts.

Day 1 Movement Menu (some or all will be in the workouts): Events 1&2: Weighted lunges, burpees, weighted burpees, farmer's carry, air squats, weighted squats, pushups, situps. Event 3: pullups, thrusters, pushups, overhead lunge, front squats, squats, knee to elbow.  

Day 2: Teams will complete a 50K (31 mile) beach run as a relay. The team with the lowest combined time from day 1 will start first. Each team after will start at timed intervals based on their standings from day 1. The first team to finish the relay, is the overall winner.

Day 2 relay details: The 6 team legs are run between aid stations and are lengths of 5.6, 5.4, 5, 5, 5.4, and 4.6 miles; you have the opportunity to switch runners at each of these aid stations. Your team members can divide the legs among your members however you want, but each team member must run at least one leg.  The single team bib must be carried /worn by the running member at all time. Team must provide their own transportation to/from aid stations. 

Cost: $300 for all military team (active duty and/or veterans), $350 for non-military team. Registration closes on 11 Feb. **NO registration after 11 Feb- NO day of registration!**

Entry: Online registration is OPEN

-Entry includes 4-custom Son of a Beach coolers, 4-long sleeve Under Armour Destin Ultra shirts, 4-Destin Ultra medals for finishers, fully stocked ultra aid stations on day 2, scoring, awards for top teams, and post-event party, drinks, and concert on the Tops'l pool deck.

Fundraising: Teams are encouraged to raise funds for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation through firstgiving.com. There will be awards for the top fundraising teams. Fundraising instructions
